Velvet sofas add a soft, rich texture to a living room. More than half of ours come with toss pillows, and about one in five has a curved shape. Brown and gray lead the colors, followed by beige and blue. Gold legs appear on about a fifth and silver on a few. Most are about 70 to 90 inches wide, so check the listing against your wall. Velvet shows the direction of its pile, which is part of its look; brush it lightly in one direction to even it out. Measure doorways and the tightest turn on the way in.
