Kitchen islands make up nearly six in ten pieces here, and rolling carts, bar carts and prep tables make up most of the rest. About half roll on casters, and about seven in ten include storage such as shelves, cabinets or drawers. Widths run from a 15-inch round cart to 60-inch islands, and the typical height is about 35 inches, close to a standard 36-inch counter. White is the most common color, often in a two-tone finish with brown, black or natural wood. About three quarters are manufactured wood and a few are solid wood, and most need assembly. Leave about 36 to 42 inches of walkway around an island.
