About two thirds of these outdoor lights hang from a porch or entry ceiling, and about a third are wall lights and sconces for beside a door or garage. More than half are black, with bronze, white and brass finishes too, and many are lantern shapes with clear, seeded or frosted glass. Nearly nine in ten are listed for wet locations and most of the rest for damp locations, so check the listing before fitting one where rain can reach it. About nine in ten are dimmable. Most are 9 to 23 inches tall. Where people walk underneath, leave about 7 feet between the floor and the bottom of a hanging light.
